Austin Avenue, Elwood

 Proto modernist dining box

A box full of bubbles. The proto modern style that was deployed as it is mid placed between the existing Arts and Craft bungalow of the 1920's and a remanent boxy 1970's extension. The main integrating device was the continuation of materials from both volumes, wrapping the new room in a roughcast render skin externally. Internally the project is a viewing box for dispersed courtyard spaces, unifying the garden through the selected snippets of view and through occupation of edges.
